Trainee Manager

About the role:

OK Furniture is seeking an experienced Trainee Branch Manager to lead and drive the strategic planning, organisation, and operational success of our retail branch. This role requires expertise in inventory management, sales target achievement, staff leadership, and problem resolution related to customer service, personnel, and equipment maintenance. What you bring:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (Essential)
• Diploma in Business Management or Business Administration (Highly beneficial)
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Furniture retail environment
• Familiarity with relevant retail systems and procedures
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to take initiative
• Adaptability to rotational experiential learning and varied work contexts
• Computer literate with basic proficiency in MS Office applications
• Knowledge of retail systems and emerging technologies
• Understanding of store operations management and promotional planning
• Competence in merchandising principles and stock handling procedures

What you'll do:

• Oversee and enhance customer experience and engagement to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Manage store merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to drive sales performance.
• Implement and maintain store promotional displays in compliance with Group standards.
• Control store Profit and Loss (P&L) management and prepare accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure optimal stock availability, quality, rotation, and implement loss prevention measures.
• Manage store expenses effectively, ensuring strict adherence to budgetary controls.
• Maintain consistent service levels and uphold operational standards across all store functions.
• Develop and apply comprehensive knowledge of Furniture retail management to optimise operational efficiency and service excellence.
