Job Summary:
The Structural/Site Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and supervising the structural aspects of construction projects and also overseeing day-to-day construction site operations, ensuring that work is carried out according to design, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role includes supervising workers and subcontractors, managing resources, resolving site issues, and liaising between the project manager and on-site team to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
- Interpret architectural designs and translate them into structural blueprints.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and structural standards. Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other consultants to develop integrated designs.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of project phases.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly site reports.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and trades to maintain schedule, resolve technical issues, and optimize workflows.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to verify structural integrity and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance to field teams and resolve engineering related issues.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, ProtaStructure, or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and structural detailing.
- Familiarity with Revit, Civil 3D, or BIM software will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of engineering codes, standards, and construction regulations.
- Ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in structural design and site supervision.
- Membership or registration with relevant professional bodies such as Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria or NSE.
- Experience in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Project management knowledge will be an added advantage
