Mika Express Distribution Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Stock Controller to manage and oversee inventory control operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in inventory management, with an emphasis on maintaining accurate records, minimizing stock discrepancies, and ensuring smooth stock operations. The candidate must also have a robust personal character, demonstrating leadership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach in stock handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock records and track stock movement in and out of the warehouse. Ensure timely and precise documentation of all inventory transactions.
  • Stock Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile physical stock with system records, identifying discrepancies and investigating causes. Take corrective actions when necessary to maintain stock integrity.
  • Stock Audits: Conduct periodic physical audits and cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of stock levels. Prepare and report findings to management.
  • Stock Control & Organization: Ensure that stock is stored properly in accordance with company procedures and health & safety standards. Organize stock in a manner that facilitates easy access and stock rotation.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit regular reports on stock levels, stock movements, and any variances. Provide insights into stock trends and recommend improvements to inventory control processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and sales, to ensure seamless stock availability and distribution.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and recommend improvements in stock control processes, workflows, and technologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior staff on stock control best practices and system usage.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: A diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in inventory management, stock control, or a related field, preferably within a distribution center or warehouse environment.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of stock control procedures and inventory management systems.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proven track record of maintaining accuracy in stock levels and inventory reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic.
    • Ability to train, mentor, and lead a team.
  • Character: A high level of personal character, responsibility, and professionalism. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software, MS Excel, and other relevant tools.
