This position reports to the Project Manager. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.
- Providing technical support to the production team in achieving efficient production in a proactive manner.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee civil engineering projects within the mining site.
- Scheduling mining, Ancillary Equipment, and labor to achieve production and safety targets.
- Ensuring all mining works are executed to design and within the scope of works.
- Monitoring and recommending action plans to ensure consistent improvement in production.
- Daily costing and settling realistic production targets for the Supervision team.
- Daily reports on Equipment availability and utilizations.
- Participate in safety and environmental planned inspection, risk assessments, safety audits, critical and planned task observation.
- Coordinate the formulation of safe working procedures (SWP).
- Coordinate the Pit Operations and construction team on site.
- Carry out production date analysis and setting out of Mine Plans.
- Ensuring mine haul roads and ramps are of standard width and grade etc.
- Coordinate open Pit mine development including stripping of overburden with adhere to spatial compliance.
- Ensuring effective and efficient utilization of all mining equipment.
- Supervision of Open Pit Quantities (End of Month Volumes).
- Preparation and presentation of month end report to the client
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Civil engineering from a recognised university.
- At least 5 years of experience in the role or related position.
- Knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Drill and blast knowledge
- Load and haul operations.
- Mine planning .
- Geology and Survey .
- Mining Contract Administration.
- Dispatch.
- Extensive skills in the design and scheduling softwares (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac and Mine shed

- ERB.
- Blasting Licence.
- Drivers Licence.
