Job Description

To manage the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of goods and services that keep business operations running smoothly. To ensure that every purchase meets the company standards for quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery, while building strong, ethical relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and reviewing company strategies for ordering supplies and equipment for the company
  • Preparing organization wide procurement plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports
  • Evaluating suppliers, products, and services. negotiating contracts in line with company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors for new purchases
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and overseeing and approving timely purchase of products and services
  • Managing inventories to ensure adequate stock
  • Maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Communicating with Suppliers to maintain positive relations,

Requirements

  • Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management/ BSC Accounting/ BBA, CIPS added Advantage
  • Membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
  • years’ experience as a Procurement Officer in a reputable organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and market analysis
  • Familiarity with RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes, and experience in managing procurement qualifications and standards.
  • Understanding of global market trends, supply chain dynamics, and pricing strategies.
  • Networking and Negotiation Skills
