Duties & Responsibilities

Provide continued advice and guidance to regions/units in matters relating to employee relations and by representing the company at both internal and external bodies (CCMA, BC, etc.) and ensure successful defence, settlements of mandates/disputes. Understanding of HR Business strategies as well as formulation thereof. Control the operation of all regional IR procedures, systems and practices in a manner that is in line with its value system and legislation. Effectively manage the implementation of all human resource functions and policies for the division. Ensure timeous and effective communication and training of HR policies, systems and procedures (including any changes) to line managers, HR staff and units, thereby ensuring compliance and consistency. Ensure sound employment and partnership relations between the company and its various interest groups of employees, their trade unions and bargaining councils, by representing the interests of the company at appropriate levels. Managing the legal compliance & risk management processes in terms of systems required to be instituted by applicable laws, including collective bargaining, consultation, dispute resolution, dismissal for operational requirements, employment equity and health & safety. Advise management on labour law and changes (LRA, BCEA, EEA, OHSA, COIDA etc.) as well as conduct training and facilitation of workshops/courses. Handle strikes, lock outs, work stoppages (go slows), disciplinary enquiries and grievances.

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology / Human Resources or equivalent
  • 5-8 years Senior Management experience within a similar role
