To manage the accreditation and auditing of learning programmes in Higher Education Institutions in order to ensure that Learning Programmes meet set standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage periodically the development and implementation of policies and programmes in order to provide guidance in the accreditation of Learning Programmes.
  • Manage timely the accreditation of learning programmes in order to facilitate the provision of quality higher education.
  • Manage regularly the auditing of Learning Programmes in order to ensure conformity to set standards.
  • Manage periodically the conduct of research on quality assurance of Learning Programmes in order to inform decision making.
  • Monitor and evaluate periodically the implementation of departmental programmes in order to assess the impact of service delivery and provide appropriate intervention measures.
  • Coordinate periodically the preparation of the state of higher education report on accreditation of Learning Programmes, list of accredited Learning Programmes and other reports to facilitate decision making and inform the public.
  • Coordinate timely the Sectional budget in order to facilitate acquisition of resources of the Section.
  • Manage timely development of work plans and implementation of the Annual Performance Appraisal System (APAS) in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
  • Manage effectively staff and other resources of the section in order to facilitate the attainment of the department’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Full Form V / Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology or a Social Science discipline earned from a registered or recognised Higher Education Institution.
  • Six (6) years relevant experience, two (2) of which must be at middle management level in university administration, consultancy or research.
