International Energy Sector MRV Consultant

The International Expert in the Energy Sector will provide high-level technical and institutional support to strengthen Zambia’s Energy sector Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system in alignment with the requirements of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) as agreed under the Paris Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Establishing a robust and inclusive Institutional Framework for Energy Sector MRV.
• Operationalizing a sustainable and ETF-compliant data management system for the Energy Sector.
• Strengthening methodological rigor to support the progressive transition of the sectoral iMRV system toward Tier 2 (and higher tier) approaches, while ensuring technical readiness for BTR2 reporting in accordance with ETF requirements.
• Strengthen National Capacities and Ensure Long-Term Sustainability.
• Supporting project monitoring and reporting, including contributions to internal reports, donor reporting (e.g., EU), and presentations to the Project Steering Committee and external stakeholders.
