About Winco Industries

Winco Industries is a Chinese manufacturing company currently establishing a new factory in Masaiti District near the Kafulafuta Toll Gate. As we expand our operations in Zambia, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager. CHINESE TRANSLATOR, CRANE OPERATOR, LOADER DRIVER AND WELDERS AND BRICKLAYERS to support both the construction phase and the long-term manufacturing operations of the factory.

Key Responsibilities HR MANAGER

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for construction workers, technical staff, and manufacturing employees.
  • Develop workforce plans to support both factory construction and operational phases.
  • Design and implement HR policies and procedures in line with Zambian labour laws.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers and other regulations.
  • Manage onboarding, contracts, employee records, and HR administration.
  • Handle employee relations matters including disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution.
  • Prepare HR reports and provide strategic HR advice to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • Able to speak Chinese (Optional)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience recruiting for construction sites and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Age between 30 and 48 years.

Key Responsibilities CHINESE TRANSLATOR

  • Provide verbal interpretation during meetings, site visits, and business engagements.
  • Assist with communication between Chinese management, staff, clients, and partners.
  • Proofread and edit translated materials for accuracy and clarity.
  • Support administrative and operational teams with language-related tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Diploma or Degree in Translation, Chinese Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of cultural and business communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities front end loaders

  • Operate front end loaders to load and offload materials such as coal, sand, gypsum and gravel into trucks or stockpiles.
  • Inspect the machine before and after use to ensure it is in good operating condition.
  • Clean and maintain the machine, including checking fluids, lubricating parts, and replacing worn or broken parts.
  • Report any issues or needed repairs to maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections to ensure the loader is safe and operational.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating front end loaders in a industrial setting.
  • Valid silicosis certification.
  • Operating certificate and competency certificate for front end loaders from a recognized institution.
  • Physical ability to work in demanding conditions, including long hours and variable weather.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and precision in operating heavy machinery.
  • Effective communication skills

Key Responsibilities CRANE OPERATOR

  • Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials
  • Load and offload steel products, raw materials, and equipment
  • Follow lifting plans and supervisor instructions
  • Conduct daily crane inspections and report faults
  • Ensure safe rigging and proper use of lifting accessories
  • Maintain clear communication with ground personnel
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Assist with general yard or plant operations when required

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Valid Overhead Crane Operator certificate
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating overhead cranes, preferably in construction company or steel industry
  • Good understanding of lifting safety procedures
  • Physically fit and ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication skills

Key Responsibilities WELDERS

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding on structural steel and metal components
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces prior to welding
  • Carry out quality checks on completed welds
  • Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and the broader construction team

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven welding experience
  • Relevant trade certificate or qualification
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or ARC welding
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Measure and cut materials to the required sizes
  • Mix mortar and ensure proper bonding of materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work collaboratively with site supervisors and other team members

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bricklayer
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Must be physically fit and able to work
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship
