Health and Safety Officer | Dozer Operator

Job Description

The Dozer Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dozer equipment to support mining production activities, haul road maintenance, and general site operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving health and safety systems across mining operations and the gypsum processing plant to ensure compliance and support the company’s zero-harm objective.

Responsibilities

Dozer Operator:

• operating the dozer safely and efficiently in line with mine operational requirements
• conducting pre-start inspections before each shift
• keeping the equipment clean internally and externally
• supporting haul road construction and maintenance activities
• maintaining required site safety standards, including road surfaces and windrow heights
• reporting equipment defects promptly to maintenance and dispatch teams
• performing any other production-related duties as assigned
• promoting a strong workplace safety culture

Health and Safety Officer:

• developing and implementing site-specific HSE policies and procedures
• conducting routine inspections and risk assessments across the mine site
• investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses
• conducting safety inductions and training for staff and contractors
• monitoring PPE usage and safe work practices
• coordinating emergency drills and safety audits
• preparing monthly safety performance reports
