Boiler Desk Engineer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain Generation on units as per approved export power schedule.

Identification of deviation in operation parameters and take appropriate action for normalization.

Logging of all parameters periodically and noting down activities taken place during shift.

Coordinate with Field operators and guiding correct directions to them.

Coordinating with Turbine Desk operation engineers to deliver required outputs from Boiler.

Operation of limestone injection related equipment.

Continuous monitoring & controlling of CEM values.

Operation of chemical dosing pumps to maintain balanced chemical properties in water and steam coordination with chemist.

Informing all abnormalities being faced to Shift Charge Engineer.

Adhere to all laid down Safety, Health and Environmental standards, practices and procedures.

Check Healthiness of all standby equipment and work place and ensuring complete availability of the same.

Analyzation for root cause of the abnormalities / trips & suggesting corrective actions.

SECONDARY ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Suggesting Heat rate improvement ideas.

Working towards reduction of auxiliary consumption & DM water consumptions.

Targeting to reduction of startup fuel consumption.

Attend training and refresher classes.

Providing the training classes.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

i) Functional

• Knowledge on thermal power plant operation
• Boiler DCS hands on experience.
• Knowledge on boiler commissioning, normal & emergency startup operations.
• Familiarization with all the protections and interlocks.
• Forecasting abnormalities
• Trouble shooting ability.
• Analytical skills

ii) Behavioral

• Abiding company rules and regulations.
• Inter personnel skills
• Communication skills
• Regularity in duties.

EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY

BACKGROUND : 5-10 years in Boiler operation of Thermal Power Plants

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : B.E/ B. tech in Mechanical Engineering
