Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:

• Analyse, reconcile, and report MTN Zambia revenue and direct costs in compliance with accounting standards and company policy.
• Perform daily and monthly revenue analysis, identifying trends, variances, and exceptions.
• Prepare and post monthly revenue journals to the general ledger in line with reporting timelines.
• Reconcile billing systems, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger, resolving reconciling items promptly.
• Conduct month-on-month and budget variance analysis, providing clear explanations for management review.
• Reconcile interconnect and roaming revenues against traffic and billing data, reporting discrepancies.
• Support accounts receivable reviews, including debtor ageing analysis and first-level provisioning for doubtful debts.
• Validate enterprise customer contracts and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely billing.
• Ensure revenue recognition and cost of sales are aligned with MTN Group policies and IFRS standards.
• Support audit, system integrity, and process improvement initiatives to strengthen revenue assurance and reporting accuracy.

Candidate Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or professional qualification (ZICA, CIMA Managerial, ACCA Level 2 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance environment, with at least 2 years in financial or revenue reporting.
• Experience working with ERP systems and high-volume financial data.
• Knowledge of IFRS/IAS, revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in a telecommunications or highly regulated environment is advantageous.
